Yahoo to stream Gore's Current TV

Content from Al Gore's Current TV will begin streaming on the newly launched http://www.marketingvox.com/yahoo_to_stream_gores_current_tv-022659/">Yahoo Current Network, which is targeting the 18-34 demographic.

Gore hopes to expand Current TV's audience beyond cable, where the network's reach is 30 million, a low figure by TV standards - and too low for Nielsen to rate, reports Business Week. Yahoo Current Network will feature four channels of streaming video, and Gore's Current TV will supply content - both professional and amateur videos.

Most clips will be preceded by a 15- or 30-second ad - the first time that Yahoo has included commercials with user-generated content, writes the New York Times. The four Yahoo Current channels cover topics favored by advertisers: news, travel, action sports and cars. More are planned.

As to what this means exactly I am not sure. Will this give those of us with no way to watch countdown now that ready-tv is gone a way to watch it? I don't have a clue. Well, I don't have NO way to watch it. I can watch it on youtube thanks to nice people who post it there. It at least lets me watch it when I can watch it.

Funny thing is I did a search for internet streaming and thought I had found a site to do internet streaming. It said it had current tv internet streaming. So I clicked on it. And it had a pop up and it was streaming Fox news. uggh. But what do you expect. Maybe THEY had ready-tv shut down. I wouldn't doubt it.

1. I Wrote Them About This
and I got a reply just yesterday.

My 24 year old was saying, no one he knows a TV, but everyone has a laptop, smart phone, or tablet.

7. FWIW.. I have no tv AND I watch lots of tv shows online day after broadcast.
MSNBC.com runs all of its news shows, including Maddow, after midnight, so does The Daily Show, Colbert, and Current tv.

The only issue is how important is it to see them at the time of broadcast.

For me, not so important. Any serious breaking news I can find on DU, the rest is just enjoyment of the anchors.

I worked nights for decades, so do not miss the tv at all, esp. in the evenings.

12. I watch Keith the next day on current.com.
They have clips of each segment from previous day.
Last night I watched a hilarious segment, "Palin's Emails as Poetry".
Very dry wit, has Keith.

10. Those of us who have cable & are paying way too much as it is deserve to have a
progressive channel (Current TV) as much as Ailes' self-described "too lazy to think" hand-fed Fox News viewers.

I'm disgusted that I'm paying for Fox News, which I don't want, never even click on, yet I'm not getting a channel that I desperately want to see. I'm at the point where I could cancel everything but the basic cable & not miss it.
