In my opinion, people who go "WOO HOO AMERICA FUCK YEAH" at executions |
|
have a huge flaw of character and are to be generally avoided.
By the way, I believe there are people who think it's OK for the DP to exist but do not possess the aforementioned ugliness. Probably very few, but they exist.
That is all.

3. No "WOO HOO" here. But I do believe there are times when the DP is appropriate |
|
If you are referring to the Leal case, he deserved to die. I don't celebrate his death, but neither do I feel any sympathy for him.

I don't remember all usernames.
I stand by what I said.

5. I've only seen one thread on it |
|
Some people were celebrating him being put to death, but I don't recall anyone saying 'whoo hoo America yeah.'
Of course, Leal himself did say 'Viva Mexico.' That's sort of close, I guess.

I would think you would actually need to the latter to justify your headline.
But what do I know ;)

7. They're telling the truth about who they really are - that they genuinely get joy from killing |
|
and whatever story they tell about it afterwards, well, that's just a cerebral cortex story, while the pleasure, or revulsion, depending, comes from a deeper brain. There aren't any excuses that explain the difference between someone who performs a necessary killing with sorrow and someone who performs a necessary killing with joy. It's an expression of your personality, not the external event.

15. You should read that article because it has nothing to do with your OP. |
|
My point, and I know I didn't make this clear, is that I am more concerned with whether or not someone did the crime for which he or she is being executed for. I don't care much if people cheer an execution, cry about, pray, or even don't care much. I just want the punishment to be just.
If you think you can diagnose psychopathy from reactions to executions because you read an article out of a popular science mag, then have it.

After all, sometimes the executed person is innocent.
People who take joy in executions, on the other hand, are creepy assholes with 100% certainty.
