The point of the matter IS...
Whether Jared Loughner is a rightwing nutjob, socialist far left crazy, or seriously disturbed individual of no affiliation or not, the rhetoric exists out there, through the media and hate speech, for us to be able to draw those lines.

Whether he saw Sarah Palin's map, or not... the map is there.
Whether he hates Democrats or not... the hate is there.

Because of this, I have no problem drawing that line. And I will continue to do so. If the speech wasn't out there, the Tea Party wouldn't be having to scramble around, defending themselves.

4. We don't have to draw the lines and we don't have to connect them.
They're already drawn and they connect themselves.

6. I do not think this can be said....
too many times. We need to say it and keep saying it. There was a time when violent and hateful rhetoric was unacceptable except in dark corners. It is time that we worked harder to make it so again.

7. Congressional members interviewed on
Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 08:13 PM by Cleita
television are already saying that the conversation has to be toned down. I think this was an indirect reference to all the crazy talk on radio, internet and TV. Maybe Congress will do something finally about the media circus now that they literally are in the crosshairs. They have the ability to make laws to change things. So change them already.

8. I can only hope that the events of today will really bring about change.
I hope the Glen Becks and Sarah Palins of the world tone it the heck down.
