Want to know the question to ask baggers when they suggest cutting social programs?
Very seriously ask them, "Well what do you plan to do with the people who can't afford to make it in this economy? The millions of people who don't have a pot to piss in. What are your plans for them?"

Ask them, "Do you want to just plow them under and use them as fertilizer?"

"What is your plan for these people?"

Watch them start him hawing around and blubbering under their breath. Because they don't have any answers. At least no answers that they will admit to.

Then tell them Obama wants to feed the hungry and because of that you hate him for that? The GOP wants to just them starve them all to death and be done with it and you love them?

More mumbling from them. You will never get a straight answer.

Try it on one. See if you get the same response as I do.

1. A: Let them eat cake
I hear it all the time.
The workers are being f'ed by the poor (not the wealthy).
It is not fair that workers need to work to struggle to make ends meet - the poor get it for free for nothing.
Let the poor rely on Churches and other do-gooders. Let workers that want to feed the poor donate to a church.

And drug test everyone..

3. The baggers don't care unless it affects them directly.
They're all "individual responsibility" . . . unless they become disabled, hungry, homeless, etc. They are self centered and heartless.

8. I've asked them that question.
For the most part, the answer is it "isn't my problem". Nice. I fucking hate every last one of them. How can anyone (and most of them are Christians, of course) not care that people are living on the streets?

22. The answer you get from them might depend on how the question is asked?
I would never ask this question to someone sitting across the room from me. Or on an anonymous website. Wouldn't ask it with a bunch of their friends there either. More kind of a one on one thing.

This is the kind of question that I would wait until I was up real close to the person before I asked it. Close enough that they could smell my aftershave lotion I put on the day before. Close enough to where I could reach out and slap the piss out of them on the spot if I were so inclined, which I am not. That close.

I think it makes a difference who asks the question and how it is asked.

23. It was a one on one kind of thing.
One I remember in particular was my freeper ex-boss. We used to talk politics all the time. I worked for him for four years during shrub's reign of hell. Boss thought shrub was "the smartest President we've ever had". :eyes:

Another was a random discussion at a local gathering hole - he was alone. I just don't think there's any getting through to people who are that dense. Good on you for trying, though. :)

25. Most I know assume
people that won't make it are lazy people just getting by on hand outs. They deserve whatever they get. If you try to narrow it to people that were born disabled or disabled in war they say there would be enough money for them if we didn't have so many free loaders. I know there answer, I've seen and heard it enough times I don't need to imagine it.

10. answer
Edited on Fri Jul-08-11 07:34 AM by Locrian
their answer is either going to be "not my problem" (if they are a complete dick) -or-

"cutting xxx will FORCE people to get jobs etc"

They dont get that it's not someone's fault that they don't have a job or $$. Or, it's only because they're lazy, etc. Now when it happens to THEM it's some gov program to blame, not the greedy rich bastards bottom fishing for jobs.

And it's just dogma: if its still a problem then you just aren't cutting ENOUGH to finally force them to get off their ass. The dogma is the WORST because you can NEVER win - you can never cut enough to satisfy them that it wouldn't have worked "if just we had cut MORE..."

See how it works?

11. All I get is
"let 'em work like I did" or "get them off their lazy asses and go find a job"

They think of nothing but THEMSELVES.

You can't count on right-wingers suddenly feeling empathy for the plight of others.

Right-wingers sure do love that word, though.

14. I was told by a conservative that using Medicaid was ok
for her, but everyone else was just scamming the system. She also told me that "everyone" could get Medicaid, so we didn't need health care reform. Nothing I said could convince her that she was wrong.

15. They don't care. It's just that simple.
A lot of these baggers don't live in the cities, so homelessness doesn't affect them that much. If they see a few more homeless people out in the exurbs where they live, then oh well. Out of sight, out of mind.

The ones who are willing to answer will say, "That's not my problem." However, it WILL become their problem if no one has nay money to buy services and products because then nearly everyone will be out of a job (including them) except for the personal assistants of the super-rich and the employees of industrial prison complexes.

24. They've been saying it all along...
1. It isn't their problem.
2. Plenty of charities will help them.
3. They can get jobs if they're willing to work hard enough...at McDonald's or picking lettuce.
4. They should stop having babies (but, no abortions!!!!!!)
5. God will give them the guidance they need.
6. Ooooooh!!! Look! A shiny!!!
