2. Even Robert Kennedy didn't accept this and hired investigators to determine
the truth but they didn't find anything conclusive.

9. Yes now...
early this afternoon they were busy using words like' lone gunman' and 'apparently deranged'...then they had to stop when it turned out that they weren't in Dallas....

7. For a full account of how much they lied and how much they suppressed when JFK was killed
and why, I recommend: "JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died And Why It Matters," by James Douglass.

A very great book.

11. I would add two other recent titles ....
Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 09:49 PM by jxnmsdemguy65

Douglass' book is excellent and a must-read, but I would recommend these titles as well:

"Me and Lee: How I Came to Know, Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswald" by Judyth Vary Baker

http://www.amazon.com/Me-Lee-Came-Harvey-Oswald/dp/0979988675/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294541189&sr=8-1

and

LBJ: The Mastermind of JFK's Assasination" by Phillip F. Nelson

http://www.amazon.com/LBJ-Mastermind-Assassination-Phillip-Nelson/dp/1453503013/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1294541189&sr=8-3

12. According to Douglass, LBJ did not know of the assassination but did participate in the
coverup, and his reason was that the perps at the CIA--who wanted to do a first strike on Russia--had misdirected the trail to Russia (as being behind the assassination), in order to pressure LBJ to do the first strike. He felt that the Russia misdirection had to be covered up or pressure to punish Russia might become overwhelming.

I don't know if I fully buy this bit about LBJ--but Douglass is so reliable, so brilliant and so thorough that I have to respect his opinion.

LBJ is no angel, however. He wanted a war, just not a big Armageddon-type war with nukes. Three days after the assassination, he said, "Now they can have their war." He was speaking about the CIA/"military-industrial complex" and Vietnam (--another war that JFK had tried to stop).

LBJ's involvement in the coverup makes him look guilty of the assassination. I can see that they are not necessarily the same thing.
