Obama Ignores 99ers During Twitter Town Hall - Examiner
Obama ignores 99ers during Twitter Town Hall
Jason Tabrys, Liberal Examiner
July 6, 2011

<snip>

Yet again they came flooding in, questions from 99ers on twitter to their President, the shadow people who exist seemingly without acknowledgement by employers and their Government. A Government they have paid for, a Government that they have had a hand in choosing.

President Obama never sees the metaphorical outstretched hand of the 99ers during these town halls, never picks the questions from the 6 million consumers who can’t pitch in and help this economy, the soon to be homeless, and the parents of children whose futures never will be. All invisible, all helpless without leaders willing to lead.

“President Obama again has proven that the plight of the 99ers is not part of his agenda. I guess he is okay with millions going homeless on his watch.” said Rhonda Taylor, a 99er advocate and activist.

Ms. Taylor expounded on her view of the President’s performance and the overall attitude in Washington toward 99ers when I asked her if this President is simply banking on the eventual disappearance of 99ers or if he is simply without any ability to do anything or say anything fungible?

“This President is banking on the 99ers not being noticed. If we were noticed and counted in the UI rate it would shed new light on the supposed recovery.

1. I just don't know any more...
I know Clinton was a DLC, centrist, third way type who did a lot of bad things in terms of shifting the party rightward economically.

But I never doubted that he truly did feel people's pain (pardon the cliche). And I never felt like he wasn't willing to at least hear how his policies were affecting people.

Maybe I'm remembering things differently, or maybe it was just he was a better actor than Obama is.

Either way, it's just all really depressing how many more things seem to concern this president, and how many more people he's willing to hear and engage and listen to than the ones who need him to listen the most.

2. Not defending the inaction, but examiner.com is a far right-wing enterprise.

The owner has been quoted as wanting to make it 'the Fox News of the Internet.'

I'm sure they have 'liberals' submitting stories. Selected to cast more doubt on Obama and divide us.

Examiner.com should be treated as World Net Daily and Human Events.
