do you think that there is a political coorelation between men who start having children (ok, i realize they aren't actually having the children) at a young age and those that do at an older age.

What I'm trying to say is this:

Would a man who's first child was born when he was 42 be more likely to vote republican than a man whose first child was born when he was 20?

when it comes to voting. After all, once you come of age that peer group is much more important than parents.

Some people switch affiliations during their lifetimes as things change. Some do not.

As I said in the other thread, it has more to do with how the person is brought up than how old/rich/poor the father is.

My first child was born when I was 22, and my dad's first son was born when he was 29 (in the 60s). We're both quite liberal.

Since men who father children at a younger age are probably less likely to have a college education, I'd say the odds are pretty good that there is a correlation. Add that to the fact that a young father is likely to be cash strapped and eye those paycheck deductions with a jaded eye, it's highly likely.
