I find that hard to believe.

7. so media propaganda fails?
It doesn't move the country toward corporatism?
TV ads don't work?

Seems a big waste of $- if true. What a funny funny coincidence that the country has moved so far right since Reagan. How curious that there are so many rabid righties who constantly act against their own interests.

So very curious. Aren't you?

8. Most are exposed to the propaganda and many chose to disregard it.

Making the choice to believe it is not a sign of mental illness. It's a sign of ignorance and error.

10. If your view of propaganda were true, we would all be like him.
People have agency and choice, determined by the structures we live within, like the media.

Some engage in critical thinking to overcome the propaganda, others swallow it whole and choose to believe the lies.

Pull your head out.

16. There are two narratives here.
Edited on Sun Jan-09-11 11:10 AM by mix
One, he's crazy and two, the rightwing media made him do it.

Both are perhaps true, but they also exonerate the shooter to some extent by denying that maybe he knew exactly what he was doing and by neglecting a third possibility: this was a political assassination carried out in cold rational blood.

I believe, and it's speculation at this point, that he was not a sponge of the right's violent rhetoric so much as a purveyor of it.

A rational agent of death.

It was bound to happen and will happen again as long as the RW Media Hatemongers continue
to incite the weak minded Shittoheads with their constant flow of hate and divisiveness.

What do we know about his mental state other than a hodge podge of internet ramblings and anecdotes?

Perhaps he was unstable, but I would like to hear a clinical diagnosis first.
