St. Boehner Day
John Boehner's remarks today clearly laid the blame for the poor jobs recovery at Obama's feet. As usual. As if there weren't a number of job-creating bills languishing in the House because Boehner refuses to bring them forward. As if Boehner hasn't been acting in concert with McConnell and Cantor in stopping anything that might conceivably give Obama some points, never mind the horrible consequences for the country.

DU should be all over Boehner for his crap. Instead, there are multiple threads that revile Obama.

There is such a thing as constructive criticism. There is also such a thing as picking up the ball and running with it to the opponent's goal. On DU of late there has been far too little of the first, and way too much of the latter. We'd better smarten up around here before Frank Luntz really does own us.

2. We expect nothing from Boehner.
We VOTED for Obama. That, my dear, gives us bitching privileges.

4. He neglected to say that the House Dems have proffered
several bills that never saw the light of day. The Republicans? Not sure if they've submitted any or not. But I'm betting they haven't because this is fodder for ousting Obama in 2012.

Rachel is covering this now.

Interesting that I haven't noticed Cantor standing at Boehner's shoulder nodding along enthusiastically with whatever the Leader says. I know he walked out (ooooooh! tough!!!!!!) and I've heard a couple of references that there is no love lost between the two. That surprised me because I really thought Cantor was Boehner's bitch. I'd love to hear more about their relationships -- not that it matters, but I'm gleeful of anything that smacks of dissension in the Republican ranks.
