REason for optimism.
For years now, the right wing has talked down the media. Lamestream, liberal press. Etc. So, the only press they watch, is Fox. They have their slanted pollsters. Their slanted house liberals.

So much so, that they actually think that if they just go hard right, we will throw flowers, and candy. Any capitulation is why they lost.

Soon, they will be so out of touch with average voters, that they are DONE. They have no realistic measure of popular policy aims. This will lead to their going ever more harsh. If they sense that they will win with anybody but Obama, they are sure to act out. In petulant fashion. Their wild claims of communism and such will wear thin. Add to this that it seems that it is the hated mormon, or the ditz. They will likely stay home in droves.

Add to this the slim constituency they havent criminalized, or wished dead or just gone, and this is ours to lose.

Our real battle is apathy, and cynicism. In our ranks.

4. So, the only press they watch, is Fox?
Edited on Fri Jul-08-11 08:49 PM by Springer9
If that were true wouldn't Fox have astronomical ratings? But they don't. Even on her worst nights Katie Couric drew a larger audience than all the cable outlets combined.

I think you credit with Fox way to much influence. Bush got 50 and 60 million votes and McCain even had 58 million, Fox on a good night gets around 2 million viewers.

Something called Americas Got Talent averages 11 to 14 Million a night.

On Edit: AGT appears to be a revival of the Gong Show, without the goofy guy.
