Recently, on his farewell tour, George W. Bush's Secretary of 'Defense', Billy Bob Gates chastised the Europeans and NATO for being insufficiently warlike. He told them they risked becoming a second rate military power if they didn't buy more of our cool bombs and such.

Oh you crazy European liberals, with your universal healthcare and pensions and stuff. Have you lost your minds? You could be buying all this cool bang-bang stuff from us and dropping it on natives. But no, you insist on wasting your national treasure on the actual needs of your own people. WTF is wrong with you?

So now comes Orrin Hatch to stand on the Senate floor and shamelessly defend tax cuts to the top 1% while crying alligator tears over the deficit. “The poor need to be shouldering more of the burden,” he trumpeted in what had to be the most aggressive display of out-of-touch hubris the world has ever seen. In under a minute he out-assholed every other asshole in the history of assholes. Quite a feat.

The trouble is, with few exceptions, the rest of them are no better. What they're about to do to us is nothing less than a crime.

But we are apparently expected to take a beating under the Democrats that we would never have stood for under a Republican. This is the best we can expect. This is our half a loaf.

This is a crock of shit is what it is.

This is a small group of out-of-touch, over-privileged and disgustingly pampered millionaires and billionaires stuffing a fistful of excrement down our throats. Wall Street gets to keep its million-dollar bonuses, the millionaires and billionaires get to keep their shameful tax cuts and the Military Industrial Complex gets to keep pouring our national treasure down the black hole of their stupid, immoral and unnecessary wars, but we, the American people, get to eat shit.

The only rational way forward is to tax the rich and cut defense ONLY. Want to cut $4 trillion? Fine. There it is in the 'defense' budget doing nothing but blowing people up for no good reason. Take it. You're welcome to it. But don't touch our already fragile and woefully insufficient safety net. Don't do it.

Stop your stupid crying over the poor poor billionaires. You need to be helping the ones whose jobs you have exported, whose homes you have pilfered, whose futures you have stolen, whose pain you obviously do not feel. Where are the jobs? Where are the jobs? Where are the jobs?

Tax the rich and make corporations pay their fair share. This doesn't require genius. Tax the rich you dummies!
