Money flowing through the economy like a river in the desert.
Know why unemployment is back up? The stimulus money has finally disappeared.

Remember the much hated stimulus? The President put money into the economy and the result was that a great number of people who would otherwise have remained unemployed got work. With their work came pay and with that pay came tax revenues, credit pay-downs, and renewed spending for day to day items that the workers had to forgo when they weren't working. And so that minuscule amount of stimulus money circulated within and thus improved the local economies where it was spent.

And now the stimulus money is gone. Where did it go? Well, as does all worker's pay in this country in a very short time it trickled up. In the form of profits it moved directly to the top. It went to the family who owns the world's largest retail operation, it went to our current crop of "Captains of Industry" who instead of earning a living employing people and manufacturing products as in days past now import and export and speculate on the shortages and surpluses they themselves create in between. The money moves to the top and its never seen again down where economic activity is matters, where the people live, and hope to work, and hope to earn.

The stimulus worked. It worked as long as the money could be kept out of the hands of the rich. But our economy has been reconstructed to act like an up-side-down funnel with all the money moving up the channel until it lands in the black hole of long term capital gain.

There is a whole lot of difference between the person who puts their money into the hands of the local grocer and the one who puts his or hers into a Money Market Account

5. Most would not have hoarded it, BUT in the end
as they spent it, the money would still mostly end up right where it is now.. in the coffers of the walmarts & pals.

Our basic societal structure has morphed into a "baron-peasant" relationship where "they" employ us for a pittance and with that pittance we buy stuff from them.

This is EXACTLY what is going on. You understand today's economy very well.
