Does anyone know how Gifford's Seat will be handled just in case she
cannot return? Please tell me that the Governor does not appoint the person. Please.

8. Sorry, but the GOP won't take a timeout because of this incident, so we don't have the luxury. n/t

2. That is true. The Governor appoints. How convenient.

Do you think the potential 50 year old Tea Bagger accomplice would know this?

5. No, that's not true. A special election would be held after no more than 90 days. nt

3. She does not have to step down.
If she resigns or cannot serve, it is traditional for the governor to name a member of like party. Brewer would be pressured to name a Dem.

4. Yes. A tough question but must be asked. Gov. will appoint a Republican.

However the congresswoman is under no obligation to resign her office.
