4. Justifying Palin's "campaign/ war rhetoric have always been interchangeable in politics" |
|
to the now shot-thru-the head representatives. Then Contessa asks if Dems are using Palin's gunsight imagery to gain political points.

9. What Chuck said wasn't as bad as... |
|
...that condescending smirk he had on his face. Trying to shoot down her concerns...as if she was over-reacting to the map. I hope he feels like a real idiot when he sees it. And Contessa...acted as if Palin's map were no big deal. What's wrong with these people. When I first saw that map I shuddered.

17. Wow, do they have some kind of script they read from? Howard Kurtz |
|
just used the same excuse to defend Palin. 'Military rhetoric is common in politics, even reporters use it' says Kurtz!

16. Do you agree, though, that he & his co-host tried to control the overall tone of the interview |
|
segment? They don't seem to realize we're able to form our own opinions if they'd just give us the facts. I don't need them to tell me *what* to think.
Todd & his co-hosts tried to take the emphasis off the political malice that is so prevalent in the Republican party, which starkly defied the facts of the shattered, gunshot office windows incident.

11. While watching that I thought of a strategy. |
|
While watching that, I realized that when Savannah asked Gabrielle about whether she thought the Democrats were also using this kind of thing for political gain, Gabrielle should have simply asked her what she thought.
I think this is how we need to approach the problem from now on out. Instead of trying to explain OUR way out of the questioning, we must reintroduce it back on to them to answer.
The result would have been very enlightening. Savannah would have either said she thought Dems were using it for political gain, in which case she would have the responsibility of giving an example. Or if she thought the Dems actually weren't using it for political gain, then it would have put an end to the accusation.

18. Savannah Guthrie began her journalistic career here in Tucson. |
|
She was a local news reporter (?) on one of the local TV stations and therefore should have interviewed at one time or other the Federal Judge who was killed and Gabby Giffords. I would think it would have been a little more personal for her?
