I'll watch the video of his comment when it's available and listen for what you heard. If I wind up agreeing with you I'll surely send KO an email about it as equivalency is irrelevant in these times. When I was younger, the left definitely was aggressive during the anti Vietnam years. But now, there isn't any kind of movement on the left that equates the right wing. Keith should know that since he isn't much younger than me.

I think he wanted to get his Hillary comment covered in case it was brought up as an example of left wing "hate speech". Apologizing is his business as it was his statement that raised some eyebrows at the time.

Both sides have been racheting up the rhetoric since 2004, most definitely since 2008. Perhaps the Left has not been as virulent as the Right, but both sides have done their share to militantly polarize this society.

Olbermann has recognized this (he suspended Worst Persons there for awhile) and I think his self-introspection was timely and much needed -- we all can probably do a little of that ourselves.

...won't. Beck, O'Reilly, Palin and their ilk will never admit nor see their complicity in the events that led up to today's tragedy. Nor will their followers wake up to see how this kind of inflammatory rhetoric is ruining this country. They have predicated their patriotism on violence, and I don't see that ideology changing anytime soon.

That is truly the pity, and the true threat to the democratic process.
