White House Chief of Staff says American taxpayers are committed to give money to Pakistan
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's chief of staff confirms that the U.S. is suspending $800 million in military aid to Pakistan.

William Daley says the U.S. relationship with Pakistan is "difficult" and must be made "to work over time." But Daley tells ABC television's "This Week" that until "we get through that difficulty, we'll hold back some of the money that the American taxpayers are committed to give" the U.S. ally.

Daley says the countries are trying to work through issues that have strained ties.

3. I say we cancel that free gift to Pakistan and give to those who really need it
right on our American soil. And I bet they won't blow you up for doing it, either.

5. Takes one hell of a nerve.
To say something like that in the middle of a budget crisis that could cost THIS country dearly.

All the more reason to take another good, hard look at our military spending as well as our other overseas commitments, especially to governments that aren't necessarily our allies in the first place.

6. Where do you think the money we send to other countries comes from?

The tooth fairy? When our leaders make these deals they're working under the power bestowed on them by the voters who elected them. If you don't like it complain to your Senators and Representatives. Organize, and be vocal.

That this money has been suspended is not something I'll be losing sleep over.

7. Funny how that 14th amendment sounding language is
floating out of the mouths of the White House at this point in time.

It's almost like we were softened up for that delivery.

10. That should read
American taxpayers should be committed for allowing this to go on.
