PHOTO of the DAY (JAPAN)
Edited on Sun Jul-10-11 03:39 PM by AsahinaKimi

About 250 fans made by students at Moriyama Elementary School in Nagoya's Moriyama Ward are seen hanging from the ceiling in a hallway at the school before being sent to the tsunami-hit town of Shichigahama, Miyagi Prefecture, in this recent photo. Pairs of students in the lower and upper grades of the school produced the fans featuring colorful illustrations and messages such as "We support you from Nagoya," and "We will continue to support you until smiles return to everyone's faces." The fans, the brainchild of the elementary school's student council, will be distributed to Shichigahama residents at a summer festival on July 23. (Mainichi)

A two-seat electric three-wheeler is unveiled in Tokyo on July 7, 2011, with the heads of the two companies that jointly developed the new EV -- Mitsuoka Motor Co. President Susumu Mitsuoka, left, and Yuasa M&B President Kenji Matsuda -- aboard. Named "LIKE T3," the vehicle can travel up to some 60 kilometers on a single charge, and has a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour. Mounted with a lithium-ion battery, it can be fully charged in about six hours from a home outlet. The EV will be put through its paces by testing companies starting in September, and is expected to hit the open market by March 2012. (Mainichi)

6. Great pics. My daughter and I watched the Japan/Germany game.
They played an outstanding game with heart, skill, and determination. We were very happy for them and I'm sure it was a huge boost for the people of Japan. Well done ladies! :)

However, I am not from Japan. I was born in San Francisco, California and lived under the shadow of our own Japantown (Nihonmachi). I am Japanese-Korean-American. My father is from Japan but now an American Citizen. My mom is Half-Korean, Half-Japanese born in New York City. I grew up most of my life in San Francisco however did visit Osaka Japan when I was 5 months old! I want to visit again some day when I can appreciate it more!

Thank you for your kind comments! doumo arigatou gozaimasu!~bows~
