There's a part of me (and I'm not particularly proud of it) |

that says; let the Republicans have it Let them have it now and let the crashing down happen sooner than later.

They are just blowing smoke. Of course they want to crash SS and Medicare. So, smoke.
We've been had.

I can't stoop that low, and still have faith in Dems despite all the problems which, btw, were primarily created by the rethugs.

I have that same part.
too late to prevent, so why delay. Let it get done collapsing, so we can get started on the rebuilding.
Though we'd still be left with them and their useless ideas, and we'd still have to fight them to build something worth having. ( That's the part I'm prone to forget. )

6. I think there is that little part in most of us. |
|
Some days, I just want to give them the reins and let them have everything they are fighting so god damned hard for. Basically, I would like to see them blink, because I am sure that they do not want to do what they are fighting to do. And if they really are stupid enough to destroy the world economy, I want them to take the "credit".
And I am afraid that you are right, the crashing will happen one day if they ever have control over Congress and the WH, so let's just get it over with.
Luckily, that little part of us that wants this is overpowered by reason.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I've been thinking for a long time that the powers that be were pretty much ready to bring this country down to third world level as far back as 2008 and that's why they put McLame up against Obama in the election. The gifted orator simply couldn't lose to that old bumbling fool and caribou barbie. So they'd not only get to blame a democrat for our descent into the pit, but a black democrat, to boot. A win-win in their view.
Was he privy to their plan? Who knows. I don't even care any more.
But I'd like all the back room conniving to blow up in their smirky faces before we go completely off the cliff. Of course with the media joined to them at the hip I don't expect it to work out that way.

but its been grinding away in the back of my head ever since the election when the republicans came out immediately blatantly bragging that they would prevent him from accomplishing anything and that they'd ruin his presidency. If they hadn't been so cock sure of their ability to do that right from the start, and then watching them doing exactly that time after time only makes that grinding noise in my head louder. it didn't occur to me until some time later that bringing the whole country to its knees was probably the ultimate plan. They HATE us. ALL of us. Blowing things up seems to be their only joy. Hell, I think they hate themselves.

25. Well, I was pretty cynical to begin with, |

and I was already preaching about the direction we were going long before Reagan, but what's coming at us now might be a whole lot worse than even I imagined. Grapes of Wrath on steroids. And I'm afraid no one can stop it now.

the other part of you will overcome this feeling..the idea that the republicans will have egg on their faces is fantasy.
THEY DO NOT CARE!
They could care less if 70% of the country blames them for anything.. they are on a MISSION larger than patriotism, love of country or fellow country men..
So buck up there Cali.

so seriously.
That feeling will dissipate quickly.
This place is over run with folks who think Obama should have fixed 30+ years of GOP mess in under 30 months.
See it for what it is. 30 years of anger pointed at the only person in the room trying to clean it up because he isn't done yet.

26. I hear ya, too many see China as a model for the U.S. |
|
With a small elite ruling class and everybody else as basically slave class. the only difference is whether the ruling class will be far left or far right, won't really matter to the slaves though. I still hope it's not too late, but I fear the corporatists may already have too much power. Without a serious American workers party, looking out for American workers first and foremost, we be fucked.

I honestly don't think anything will change in a meaningful way as long as we are such a large, spread out country. Our representatives and those in power have no healthy fear of the public. They don't see themselves as one of us. They see themselves as rulers, special, entitled and of so happy to be acknowledged by the truly elite wealthiest citizens. I often think that the one Socialist politician we have on a national level is the only one that actually cares what happens to the working class.
