This is a post from free republic

Don't blame the rich.
The rich got that way a few Penney's at a time they weren't rich when thy started. WALL MART is a good example of that
But the middle class even in dwindling numbers can alter this if it isn't made in the USA leave it on the shelf. END FREEPER POST

Thy love wall mart so much thy don't know that every thing thy sell is made in china and etc, etc, but not in the good old USA.

1. I think most people honestly have no idea about how much of their stuff isn't made in the USA.

2. I always do check the label, but it's difficult to find
made in USA unless you go to certain sites (and I know there are stores, too) but the selection is pretty limited.

But I'm not happy when I get something that's made in China.

What do you do? Any insight?

3. I buy very little. If I can find what I do want to buy made in the USA, I buy it.
If it's not, I ask myself if I really must have it and there's no alternative. Often, I don't need to have it. Sometimes there truly is no alternative.

But really, we don't buy a lot. Mostly books.

5. Yeah, I don't buy that much either, but just the other day I
was looking at the stuff my niece has listed on her wedding register, and I was thinking that I bet everything was made in China. :eyes:

4. I've read labels and tags for years
and you are right, these days it is an anomaly to find something actually made in the USA. At best there are some items that are assembled here.

8. You might want to look into some of those products

a little closer.

Here, this might help you get started.

Fender guitars are made in different countries. The cheapest ones are made in China, the middle priced ones are made in Mexico, and the highest priced ones are made in the U.S. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090622182413AAv2Df6

9. "Strathmore Artagain 400 Drawing Series. MADE IN USA."
Ford Taurus. "Made with pride by UAW in Chicago, Illinois."

Fender America Vintage Reissue Jazzmaster -- "Made in Corona, California."

Flambeau tote -- "MADE IN USA"

"Fender guitars are made in different countries."

You don't say? You reckon a fellow who owns a Jazzer might know what it cost? :hi:

10. I never said it's an "anomaly" to find something made in the USA. There is still a lot that is made
here.

6. They are crazy...
90% or more of the rich, were born rich, they didn't make it penny by penny...but the middle class usually made it to the middle class, penny by penny. They have it backwards. Shopping at Walmart isn't going to make a middle classer a rich man if that's what they are thinking.

I added up all the $$ I made since I was 15 (60's now) and I wouldn't even have half a million if I didn't spend any of it...
