Another flood casualty: common sense
Residents line river banks, snapping their iconic flood shot — on one hand, the Missouri River Flood of 2011 is turning into a popular attraction.

But on the other hand, the flood is washing away a lot of common sense.

Parents dip their children in dirty floodwater to capture the moment in history.

Drivers evade barricades set up by police.

Teenagers sneak a swim.

A week and a half ago in Leavenworth, a city worker reported seeing a father let his children swim near an intake valve at Riverfront Park that sucks in water for the treatment plant.
