Tens of thousands of pink "Go Joe" boxers and 17 years later, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is marketing a Spanish-language version of the underwear that says, "Vamos Jose!"
Inmates are forced to wear the pink undergarb. But tens of thousands of people outside jail have purchased pairs, including including Sarah Palin and Hugh Hefner, for $15 apiece, the sheriff said in a press release.
The Spanish version goes on sale after Arpaio introduces them at 11 a.m. Monday at the Valley Luna restaurant, 3336 W. Bell Road, Phoenix.
"It will raise more money to help at-risk youth and it is a poke in the eye to the critics who for years have called me racist because of my tough stance on illegal immigration," Arpaio said. "I'm not a racist and have never been. I simply believe people who come to this country should do so legally."
