Nevada Skinheads on the Hunt for Native Americans.

Can you imagine, this is still happening in our country in this day an age!:

A group of skinheads stopped a Native American couple who were in their car,
forced them out, and beat them up with baseball bats. The wife was treated
in a hospital, but the husband was put into jail for days without treatment.

One of the young hooligans boasted that nothing would happen to them, because
his father was the county sheriff!

The above is just one example of something that occurs daily: bullying in
schools, teasing and hazing of people with physical and mental disabilities
... ad infinitum.

How come there is so much premeditated aggression in this country of ours?
There seems to be an over-abundance of sadists who simply enjoy making
other people suffer!

Is there something specific we are doing wrong as a nation?

As for your final question, yes, we are doing something wrong as a nation. We're not tossing these racist bastards in prison for long prison terms. We're still tolerating racist, homophobic and ethnic-related violence in this country. We should not be doing that. We should be prosecuting such crimes vigorously in every jurisdiction in the US.

Several friends of mine gathered together as an impromptu softball team to provide something of a solution where I used to live when a group of teenaged skinheads beat up an old Jewish woman in a local park. I won't describe the details, but they stopped doing that stuff.

8. I agree with you. I support the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). What they

do is take up cases of hate crimes, mainly of people who can't afford lawyers, and
sue the perpetrators for millions. Quite a few of the hate groups have already had
to close, because they had gone bankrupt.

But, as you say, we need laws with heavier penalties, such as, mandatory prison
sentences. Some states will never pass such laws. Perhaps some day it will become
a Federal law. (I think there might be such Federal laws already in existence. If
so, they are weak ones).

9. It's not just the violence itself...

that certainly should result in jail time but it is also the culture of hate and violence that is shown through words every day. Racist and hate speech are used every day on the airwaves. The Murdoch hate speech machine and all the hate mongers on radio spread this disease every single day in this country. We all have to work to make this unacceptable in public and on the public airwaves. When you hear hate speech, express the idea that it is not acceptable.

As long as we all stand silently and let it happen, it will continue to grow.

10. Yes. We don't jail people for hate speech, but people can speak out

against hate and work to make such speech a cause for shunning and shame. Sadly, the very people who should be speaking out in that way are not speaking at all. Shame on them and the organizations they represent and belong to.

12. I've just read that as far as racism goes, Nevada is the Mississippi of

the West. Jail time is hardly likely. Now, if it were made into
a Federal crime, things might be different.
