Panetta Blames Iran for Rise in Iraq Violence
Panetta Blames Iran for Rise in Iraq Violence

US defence secretary on Iraq visit says US to act "unilaterally" against what he said was Iran's arming of Shia groups.

US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta has said that his country will act "uniterally" to confront what he said were Iranian threats to US interests in Iraq.

US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta delivers remarks to the troops as he visits Camp Victory in Baghdad on July 11, 2011. The United States is concerned about Iran providing weapons to Iraq militants and will take unilateral action when needed to deal with the threat, Panetta said on Monday.

(REUTERS/Paul J. Richards/Pool) Speaking during his first visit to Baghdad since taking office on July 1, Panetta said on Monday that the US was "very concerned about Iran and the weapons they are providing to extremists here in Iraq".

-----------

Well, looks like Gates may have had his fill of war which he seemed to be suggesting --

so someone with a stomach for more was brought in --

Isn't Panetta also CIA? Has our entire government now been taken over by CIA?

3. "... we cannot just simply stand back and allow this to continue to happen," no need... we can LEAVE
Hell, we've already agreed to leave... why pressure the Iraqis to let us keep soldiers in-country just so they can be attacked and maybe killed?

Ohh—right. To secure successions to US corporations secured after the invasion...

It sure would be handy if those corporations had to pay taxes/fees/expenses for use of the military to secure their booty from the invasion, rather than politicians suggesting that Medicare be cut...

I know... I know... crazy talk. ;)
