Barely anyone learns Latin anymore. Forget Logic. Philosophy? HA!

All useless frills.

:sarcasm:

Just blowing off steam.

1. Roman numerals are vital!
How else are we going to know which Super Bowl we're on?

3. Besides, aren't Arabic numerals just opening us up to ...
Sharia law? Let's mandate the teaching of ONLY Roman numerals.

;-)

8. And slide rules. Don't forget them. Throw in inkwells and nib pens also.

2. What do think the purpose of NCLB and RTTT is?
Getting rid of all those "useless frills". Wish I was being sarcastic.

4. Stop teaching science, the work of the devil. Teach only enough reading to read the Bible.

5. What purpose do cursive and dial clocks serve? Comparing anachronisms to civics and philosophy...
...is a real slap into face to the latter two subjects.

6. I'd be ok with it if they were paring down the entire curriculum

to basics to get our kids up to par with everyone else on math and science by putting more time and money towards those subjects.

But that isn't the case.

7. Dropping Latin from school curricula was a huge mistake,
in my opinion. I took two years of Latin in 9th and 10th grade and it has helped me immensely with words throughout my life. It's the reason that I can read and understand several Romance languages (even though I can't speak them) because they all have a Latin base.

Plus, Latin was fun. I loved the mythology.
