McConnell On Casey Anthony Trial: It Means Terrorists Could Win
The top Republican in the Senate invoked the high-profile acquittal of Casey Anthony on charges she murdered her daughter as a reason to oppose the use of civilian trials for terrorism suspects.

"These are not American citizens. We just found with the Caylee Anthony case how difficult is to get a conviction in a U.S. court," Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on "Fox News Sunday." McConnell has called on the Obama administration to place suspected terrorists in Guantanamo Bay and prosecute them in the military justice system.

"I don't think a foreigner is entitled to all the protections of the Bill of Rights. They should not be in U.S. courts. They should be at Guantanamo and before military commissions," McConnell said.

2. Why does Mitch McConnell hate the Constitution?
You can bet that if McConnell was ever made to answer for a crime, he'd be damn sure to avail himself of every right the Constitution guarantees. If the Constitution isn't good enough for everybody, then it's not good enough for anybody. Or doesn't McConnell pay attention when he's taking that oath of office thingie? Does he cross his fingers?

4. Republicans trying to demonize our court system...
This is typical. Republicans are always trying undermine our Court system. The courts
are the only branch of government that isn't owned by politics and corporate moneyed interests.

The Republicans and their corporate cohorts HATE it that juries get to make decisions and not
politicians or corporations. They will try to demonize our court system every time there is
a controversial decision like this.

The face remains--that the prosecutors in the Anthony trial went for Murder 1--which means the
death penalty. That's a high hurdle. They never could say for sure how Kaylee died, which left
so much room for reasonable doubt. There was reasonable doubt, and although there was circumstantial
evidence, there was NO DIRECT evidence linking Casey Anthony to that murder. The verdict was
just, according to the law and the jury instructions--especially with a Murder 1 charge.

Mitch McConnnel is propagandizing and using this decision to continue behaving like a Fascist thug.
These criminals want to try suspects in secret--without any rights or scrutiny--and they most likely
want to torture confessions out them. What a opportunist this hack is.

5. So Nancy Grace is his love child or something??
He, Mitch McConnell, is absolutely certain of Anthony's guilt (and by extension, that of any brown person accused of terraism), despite not actually having been on the jury or anything like that. He's the legal equivalent of Bill Frist diagnosing* Terri Schiavo via teevee. :dunce:

7. Yes, trial by a jury of your peers is such a messy unpredictsable process
It's exactly the type thing bleeding heart liberal radical socialist Democrats would swoon over. And the fact that they are government run goes a long way to explaining why they often run amuck.

It's time to privatize our legal system and let well qualified professionals working for private companies render efficient and accurate verdicts instead.

Where do Liberals come up with their crazy ideas? It's going to take a lot of hard work to flush our nation free from all the crap they imposed on us.

8. It's the government's fault that the case against Casey Anthony failed
The jury didn't fail, the civilians didn't fail, and the People didn't fail. The prosecutors failed to prove 100% that Casey Anthony was guilty of murder to the jury, and lowering the standards of our justice aren't going to protect our freedoms, from criminals like Casey Anthony or from terrorists.

9. has the military justice system ever found someone not guilty
isn't he suggesting in America if you are a foreigner you will not get a fair trial. Because in a fair trial you might be found not guilty, something he says can not happen. More important isn't he saying our military has unfair biased trials. He's basically slurring our military. Yeach.
