FDR's actions helped, Hoover's were disastrous.
So why is Obama following Hoover and rejecting FDR?

You cannot shrink your economy out of a recession!

2. I thought he was smarter.
he is following policies that are obviously the wrong way to go, and joining in with the GOP on the theme that deficits are the most important thing right now. They are not.

4. FDR was an aberration
The powers that be felt safe in putting him in office. He "stabbed them in the back" by fixing capitalism...I really wish he hadn't, but spilled milk...

The original plan was to crash the system and consolidate it all in the hands of the robber barons.

80 Years later...they're back!

5. He's doing FDR circa 1937
Fiscal tightening in 1937 on FDR's instructions sent the economy into a relapseOne of FDR's worst decisions.

8. Same reason as FDR

He doesn't completely understand how the economy works. FDR stopped listening to Keynes (who only corresponded informally with FDR), and Obama listens to economists who believe a post-modern mixture of economic theories (and seem to undervalue Keynesian economics somewhat).
