Well... You Tell Me...
"I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that's what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single-payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. That's what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we've got to take back the White House, we've got to take back the Senate, and we've got to take back the House."

Weighing in on issue in Cincinnati, Obama said, "I continue to believe that a public option within the basket of insurance choices would help improve quality and bring down costs."

And...

A key question is whether Obama is ready to drop his support for the "public option" -- a government insurance plan designed to compete with private insurance companies that has been a major feature of a proposed $1 trillion overhaul.

And Now Today...

According to five separate sources with knowledge of negotiations -- including both Republicans and Democrats -- the president offered an increase in the eligibility age for Medicare, from 65 to 67, in exchange for Republican movement on increasing tax revenues.

2. It's been quite the show, hasn't it?
We're moving on to the point where everyone dies, though. Very Shakespearean.

6. Not all of them, fortunately
They THINK they will, but there's a funny thing that happens when there's no overarching goal or external threat...people like that start to turn on each other.

After all, there can only be 1 top dog, right?

7. Then I guess Obama, all of congress, all adminstration people
do not need the American people to buy them any more health insurance
this seems like a great burden on the American people and I would not
all these people to feel like they were getting something for nothing
we all need to share in this curtailing of health benefits

9. There ain't a fucking thing to tell you
Obamas actions say it all. What he says and what he does are two different things, as my Mom used to say, talking out of both sides of his mouth.

'My thinking has evolved'! I believe he said that when asked about one or another of his changes of mind.
