Did Jared try to join the military to get near Obama?

http://azstarnet.com/news/local/crime/article_91db5db4-1b74-11e0-ba23-001cc4c002e0.html

"First Sgt. Brian Homme, who oversees Army recruiting in Tucson, said Loughner applied to enlist in December 2008 and was sent to Phoenix to take a test and physical. But "he was found to be unqualified so he never joined the Army," Homme said.

He declined to say why Loughner was rejected, citing confidentiality laws."

this picture is on his myspace:

1. How on earth would joining the military get him near Obama? How many of
our service people have gotten near Obama?

hes a crazy assassin... I've seen soldiers near obama a lot in Afghanistan, I'd guess they were searched by the service first though.

5. I thought about the solders in Afghanistan, but relatively speaking, the numbers
who get within shooting distance are few. But you make a good point, someone who isn't thinking logically wouldn't view it that way.

6. Crazy? As in mentally ill? I didn't know we were still calling them "crazy".
That does seem a little less than sensitive.

7. oops
sorry I didnt mean to offend the assassin.

lol I'm glad there are people whose job it is to look at things like this so we dont have to depend on some message board goers opinion on what a threat is.

2. How many of the military do you believe ever get close to Obama?
Particularly new recruits. My guess is that there were likely very many who enlisted after the election.

4. My neighbor had his photo taken with Obama
He's in the marines.

Seems they may have a greater chance of meeting him personally.

But then again, I don't think the OP's point well taken.
