3. They helped sink Palin as VP

with Tina Fey's impression of her.

5. I don't think that sinked her, but Fey was very good. In general, though,
SNL has been RW shit for years. I used to watch, expecting it to have a certain take on current events, and it nearly always went the RW route. Every so often I tune in and am continually disappointed. I'd never know about Fey's impression if it weren't for the web.

8. They were "liberal" at first, but their audience aged
And you know the old adage about how people get more conservative as they grow older. I believe it's true--I've seen it first-hand in my own community. Too many of the "peace and love generation" have grown up to become tea baggers. :puke:

10. I don't think it was all SNL that sunk her, but "helped" sink her
as VP anyway. And hopefully this tragic event today will finish sinking her, which would be a silver lining.

6. SNL is a hoax, a fraud perpetrated on it's viewers. The best swipe ever was in "Bob Roberts" when..
...Roberts visits the set of "Cutting Edge Live" (SNL) and everything...I mean everygoddamnedthing about SNL is absolutely ripped apart. From the premise itself to Loren Michaels...

Just one little bit of an excellent and hilarously-biting movie.

11. Seeing how the city workers crew sizes have been cut to save taxes
on the rich, and how the working class get blamed for every bad choice that higher ups make, it's damn hard to LIGHTEN UP!

I, for one do not take active assault on unions with unfounded memes as particularly humorous...

14. Odd. I couldn't find one funny thing in it.
Maybe because I was snowed in for a week on a tertiary street. And when my Mom asked the plow men, they went over our driveway to make sure we could get out. They're the same sanitation men who knocked on her door after another storm to make sure she was all right, because they knew she was old and widowed.

These are also the same men my mother thanked for the incredible job sanitation did cleaning up lower Manhattan after 9/11, a job everybody else forgot to thank them for.

But you go laugh at them.
