Shuttle docking filmed by Japanese observatory

An astronomical observatory in central Japan has successfully captured the docking of the US space shuttle Atlantis with the International Space Station.

Toyama Astronomical Observatory used a high efficiency astronomical telescope on Monday to film the event.

Atlantis lifted-off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida last Friday and docked with the space station.

The observatory's Tadashi Hayashi said he was eager to shoot the shuttle's last docking and that he was very happy when it came off successfully.
