We’ve known for some time that right-wingers had no interest in jobs, affordable health care, or anything else smacking of the actual concerns of middle-class Americans. Conservatives are primarily driven by fear of ‘the Other,’ and their policy objectives have more to do with keeping ‘the Other’ down and away than with joining together to govern for the common good and individual autonomy. Jeebus will take care of jobs as long as the teabaggers take care of the gays, the 'libruls' and the secularists.

GOP hopefuls are now being asked to take a pledge drafted by ‘The Family Leader’; that pledge requires its signatories to recognize the centrality of monogamy to American life, and particularly to America’s political institutions, civic virtues, and founding principles.
