I just hope that Obama completely rejects McConnell's latest proposal which does nothing but jeopardize the Dems' chances in the 2012 elections.

9. I agree.......there is no other reason to try to drag this |
|
out over the next several months. The repukes just want to keep reminding voters that Demskeep supporting the debt limit increase up until the elections.

4. They're both scared shitless. They've lost control of their own |

caucus, and have no idea what to do. Instead of leading, they're following a scattering herd of wild animals. Their time is over, it seems.

7. McConnell seemed particularly desperate with his "Obama must be defeated in 2012" performance |

6. Some people (I am one) believe there won't be a default... |
|
because when it comes down to it the financial people behind the politicians really don't want one. I understand some people do want one but although they are a vocal group I think the group is small enough that they simply don't have the votes to stop a debt limit increase.

8. Exactly. The corporations don't want a default. They'll |
|
explain things to their Republican toadies shortly. I suspect they already have, which is why you're seeing Boehner and McConnell running scared today.
The ceiling will be raised in time. There is no option.
