Betty Ford v Nancy Reagan
Betty chose Roslynn Carter, a Democart, to be one of the three speakers at her funeral. Nancy forbid any dems to speak at her idiot husband's three-year long ceremony. Says it all. RIP Betty.

1. Betty Ford was a great lady
and never tried to be anything other than exactly what she was. She did far more good in the world than the vast majority of people elected to office. She was a class act in every way.

3. I wish I could recommend your post
over and over. Betty Ford was indeed a remarkable woman. She was, in my opinion, what humanity is supposed to be about!

4. I believe the Fords & Carters became close
friends after they had left office.

Politics aside, we need to remember that the Ex President's Club is a pretty small one.

6. I just read the whole article.
Looks like Barbara Bush and Nancy Reagan dislike each other so much they can't even go to the same funeral. Nancy will be at the California service and Barbara at the service in Michigan.

I am surprised Lynn Cheney is speaking at the service in Michigan. But it is clear that Mrs. Ford wants the theme to be bi-partisan, demonstrating a time when politics were more civil.

than the Ford administration, actually.

But a meaningful position under Ford.

10. Betty Ford no contest...
Nancy Reagan weighed all of 95 pounds soaking wet. Betty would have pummeled her senseless.
