FLASHBACK 9/2008: "Bush Administration Adds $4 Trillion To National Debt"
With no fanfare and little notice, the national debt has grown by more than $4 trillion during George W. Bush's presidency.

It's the biggest increase under any president in U.S history.

On the day President Bush took office, the national debt stood at $5.727 trillion. The latest number from the Treasury Department shows the national debt now stands at more than $9.849 trillion. That's a 71.9 percent increase on Mr. Bush's watch.

Duhhhh....where'd all that DEBT come from? Pfft. I think that's obvious. I looked this up because some twat on twitter tried to blame DEMOCRATS for running up the debt. :wtf:

1. There is another event you should look up while you're at it...

When Obama put all the BushCo budgets together as they should be... the Pubbies are still saying that Obama spent all that money... wrong again, and again, and again. BushCo created supplemental budgets for war spending. Obama put it all together again.

3. Yes and here is the sad part "With no fanfare and little notice..."
where were the Dems, should they have not made this an issue every time they voted for more war funds.

:(

7. well it is the biggest straight increase
but not the biggest as a percentage. A mere 71.9% for Bush. What a piker. Under Reagan it went from $998 billion to $2.6 trillion and that doesn't even count Reagan's first 8 months in office nor his last 4 months. That's a 161% increase under 8 years of Reagan. Four years later it was $4.06 trillion, a 56% increase in just 4 years. 8 years later it was $5.67 trillion, a mere 40% increase over 8 years.

So the annual rate of debt increase was
20% under Reagan
14% under Bush Sr.
9% under Bush Jr.
5% under Clinton

Not to mention that our current deficit problems have three major sources

1. The Bush tax cuts
2. The Bush wars
3. The Bush recession

9. Ah yes, their eternal hero Ronnie RayGun....biggest tax & spender
in recent history. Pfft!

How any vacuum-packed idiot could say "Democrats" ran up the majority of the debt given the FACTS and known history is beyond me but they keep peddling the lie and fact-averse sheep keep on feeding on it.

11. Well Reagan was blessed with a Democratic House
that he could blame for refusing to cut social spending any more than they did.
