37 in MN legislature have signed Grover Norquist's pledge ..
...to "solemnly bind themselves to oppose any and all tax increases". One is house speker Kurt Zellers. I did not know until today that this "pledge" stuff was also going on at the state level. So there's the problem - they need to get over Grover and uphold their oath of office. Republicans should be outraged...but they're not.

Just so we’re clear where the “drown government” groups are going…and the twisted irony is they want to use government money (vouchers in this case) to get there:
“We think public schools should go away,’’ says Teri Adams, the head of the Independence Hall Tea Party and a leading advocate — both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania — of passage of school voucher bills. “Our ultimate goal is to shut down public schools and have private schools only, eventually returning responsibility for payment to parents and private charities.”

1. I think Pawlenty pledged something like this ...
... when he was governor, but he increased "fees" on certain items rather than calling them taxes.

either as long as you are living in a fantasy world.

9. Who in the fuck is Grover Norquist and why does he have so much power?
I am convinced that any and all meetings between legislators and any type of lobbyist should be subject to open meetings laws and should be recorded.
