What exactly would it take for Billo and Beck to resign?

They incite people to mass murder, and go back to work on the air the next day like anybody else. Shower, make coffee, put their socks on, get in the car, clock in or whatever, and sit down to another days's work of dividing our country against itself.

They say they love America, but they sure hate Americans.

Is there anything under the sun that would make them say, "Thank you all for listening but I realized I have to end this, I'm sorry for the harm I have caused, goodbye"?

Actually, I take that back - the threat of loss of substantial amounts of their money (as in being fined $500,000 for every minute they are on the air) would silence them. You can't give them enough money to silence them but threatening to take away their money (with some real teeth behind it) would silence them. The only thing that stops a mob boss is a bigger, badder mob boss.

IMO these criminal events are EXACTLY what they want to happen. They are sadistic greedy power-hunger psychopaths who have no empathy, compassion, or shame. They consider ANY number of deaths (as long as those deaths are not their own or their very, very, very small circle of loved ones) are an insignificant price to pay for increasing their power and wealth. But they are too cowardly and devious to get their own hands dirty. They believe that if the cold civil war which has been going on in this country for 30 years turns into a hot civil war, they will be safe and they will emerge the victors ... and they would welcome it with open arms. They don't necessarily want to be the supreme totalitarian ruler of the US - they just want one of "theirs" to be that person. They don't want the pesky barriers of democracy or law and order or human rights to interfere with their lives or their accumulation of wealth. They don't love America - they love themselves and they know professing to love America is the only way they can keep people listening to them. In a way they are the Leni Rieffenstahl's of the fascist takeover of the US - and they revel in their role in intensifying people's fear, manipulating that fear into hatred, and directing that hatred toward violence.
