Boehner Warns GOP May Lose Leverage

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) tried to rally House Republicans at a meeting this morning on the status of debt limit negotiations, but Politico reports "he did warn them that they will quickly lose leverage in the debate as the country grows closer to the Aug. 2 debt default deadline and Wall Street and business leaders pressure them to cut a deal."

4. But..but..Boehner says DEMS should take edebt limit hostage...

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/

"The Speaker shares the Leader's frustration. Republicans are unified in our commitment to ensuring that the debt limit is not used as leverage to saddle small businesses with increased taxes that destroy jobs."

WTF???

5. It's not about governing; it's not about the greatest good for the greatest number
It's about leverage and "winning" politically, which translates into campaign contributions. Pleasing the overrich fatcats who fill their coffers is the one and only consideration for these leeches, these cancerous growths on our body politic. Your working stiff father would puke on your golf shoes, Mr. Boehner.

8. I never had any respect for Boehner, but after seeing him whipped
into shape by the likes of that little weasel Cantor, I find him almost pathetic.

He's one of the old school, he probably would have worked with Obama (and in fact was trying to -- to a certain extent) but his caucus slapped him and sent him back into the ring spouting the crap he was before these talks began. The script.

And McConnell. The more I see him, the more I marvel at his intense hatred (racism?) toward Obama.

Pelosi, on the other hand would have gotten the caucus on board or come back with a reasonable compromise, not cave and go whimpering back to the play with her tail between her legs.

I bet Boehner is sorry he ever took that job. Doubt he's worked this hard in his adult life.

9. Good. Line them up on a ledge and let them hold hands and jump.
Screw every last one of them.
