Maybe not, but how did you really think it would start? Did you really believe that all of your violent and inflammatory rhetoric was just going to energize your base and get them out to vote? Did you really believe that every one of you followers was a decent, law abiding citizen who was going to hear your words and do nothing more than send you money? Did it not even flash through you mind that someone of questionable mental stability might just take what you’ve been saying to heart and act on your folksy musings? The vitriol and hatred spewed by you and you ilk has been the direct cause of a nine year old girl’s death. You have made light of violence, used euphemisms and catchy phrases to stir even more hatred into an already caustic mix, and now you and your followers want to distance yourselves from the carnage by saying “oh no, that’s not what we meant at all”.

A nine year old girl. A happy, and by all accounts, bright and intelligent girl with a promising future. Is this how you wanted it to start? I will never forget this day. I will never forget that you and your followers enabled this madman. I will never forget that you and your followers are not interested in what’s good for this country and ALL of its citizens; you are only interested in what benefits you. I will keep remembering this day by doing everything in my power to see that your pathetic “party” is defeated at every opportunity. You and your followers have no place in civilized discourse. The proof of that lay dead and wounded in Arizona today.

the little girl was featured in a book about babies born on 9/11, and called a "child of hope." She was to be a beacon of hope to soothe the pain of 9/11, only to be cut down by a political assassin who was egged on by hateful rhetoric from the people that politicized 9/11.

TUCSON, AZ - We're learning more about a little girl shot and killed along with five others at a Tucson event held by U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Saturday.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office says 9-year-old Christina Greene died in the attack that wounded Giffords and 12 others.

Christina was born on 9/11 and featured in the book "9/11: Faces of Hope." She reportedly attended Mesa Verde Elementary School.

The father of a classmate says she studied ballet and played baseball and was just elected to her third grade student council.
