Mitt Romney Rejects The Family Leader's 'Marriage Vow' Pledge
should get interesting...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/12/mitt-romney-marriage-vow-pledge_n_896617.html

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign said Tuesday that he will not sign a conservative Iowa Christian group's far-reaching pledge opposing gay marriage, making him the first Republican presidential candidate to reject it.

Two of Romney's rivals for the Republican nomination, Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, have signed the The Family Leader's 14-point pledge, which calls on the candidates to denounce same-sex marriage rights, pornography, same-sex military accommodations and forms of Islamic law.

When it was first circulated last week, the introduction to the pledge stated that African American children were more likely to be raised in two-parent households when they were born into slavery than they are today. The group struck that language and apologized after black ministers complained, but it said it stands by the rest of the document.

6. He knows Iowa fundies won't vote for him no matter what he does.
If he had a blubbering conversion and started speaking in tongues on national television they'd doubt his sincerity, and until then he's a heretic.

7. Good for Mitt
As a lifelong resident of Massachusetts, I can tell you, I disagree with Mr. Romneys politics, but I think that basically, he's a morally decent person who understands that supporting discrimination is wrong. I still won't vote for him though.

10. in the extremely unlikely - but still possible - event of electoral catastrophe in 2012, I'd rather
Mittens were on the GOP ticket than any of the batshit nutjobs.

I wouldn't vote for him. But I'd feel a little less abject terror if he got elected, than I would with most of the others.

9. From what I've heard on the news there is a provision in their about Polygamy
Romney great great grandparents were polygamist. I kind of feel bad for some these GOP politicians. Their base is horrible!
