State Lawmaker Carved Initials In Her Capitol Desk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee legislator must pay to fix her desk in the state House chamber after she carved her initials into it.

Republican state Rep. Julia Hurley told the Knoxville News Sentinel that she carved her initials in the desk during a late-night floor session in May.

Hurley told the paper that she "wasn't thinking straight."
