WW3 Fearmongering on the 'Net, Discussion Thread. |
|
For those of you who saw me post on this before, I apologize for posting on this subject again so soon, but this is pretty darned important and shouldn't be ignored, for all our sakes(And besides, I kinda messed up on the last one, anyway)?
I have noticed a significant amount of WW3 fearmongering on the Internet over the past year and a half or so, particularly since the South Korean island incident and the start of the Arab Spring revolts. And unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be slowing down, I don't think.
Has anyone else noticed what I have? Not necessarily on here(in fact, this is one site I haven't seen much of anything like this, thank goodness.), but..........
(TBH, I AM afraid the powers that be COULD potentially pull off a REAL nuclear incident on U.S. soil, if either many people are truly sucked in by these self-fulfilling predictions, or many see thru the B.S. and TPTB get desperate.)

I DON'T believe in any of that 'Illuminati/Reptilian/Masonic/Zionist Cabal' crap, btw, if that's what you meant by conspiracy theory.

Don't know what it is? Just google it.
I've seen tons of this crap on the net and it's spreading like a wildfire that's had gas thrown on it.

10. Personally, I think one of the premier American Rock and Roll bands of all time. |
|
I'm not sure if you can talk about what's happened in music in the past 3 decades without banging up against those guys. Which is about as long as I've been listening to 'em.
Murmur, Reckoning, Lifes Rich Pageant or Automatic for the People are all excellent places to start IMHO.

8. I think most people have a sense of unease |
|
about the world in general right now. Everyone knows people out of work and the news isn't great. It makes sense that people try to name that unease and conspiracy websites have a huge menu to choose from. That being said, it seems to me that Iran is being mentioned again in the news and that always makes me nervous because I do not want to see an expansion of the conflicts over there.

It certainly is possible yet another significant war could erupt in the Mideast, but why do people always assume that Moscow would be foolish enough to want to destroy AMERICAN cities with atomic bombs over a nation which doesn't even truly respect them, such as Iran, or Libya(even Syria)? It wouldn't be like attacking East Germany or Poland during the height of the Cold War. Hell, we actually did attack a couple of countries that really were significant Russian allies during that time, those being North Vietnam and Cuba. Even then we didn't get blown up.(Admittedly, we did come rather close in '62, though, during the Cuban Crisis, although the invasion of Cuba had actually occurred a year and a half earlier, in April, 1961.)

11. Serious answer: I haven't seen it, my paranoid Alex Jones friends are always paranoid |
|
that doesn't seem to change much month-to-month.
On DU, there was a contingent that was ABSOLUTELY! SURE! that an attack on Iran and subsequent fan shithitting was definitely right around the corner. This time, for sure.
Haven't seen as much of that lately, but there's always doomsayers.

12. Haven't noted anything of the sort, however it would be WW5 or 6 |
|
Historically the following were or are being fought on a Global Scale thus making them World Wars
The 7 Years War (or as we know it The French & Indian Wars) was WWW1 What we commonly refer to as WWI was then WW2 What we commonly refer to as WW2 was then WW3 The Cold War would be WW4 The Global War on Terror (GWOT) would be WW5 the Scenario of which what you describe might be classified as a part. The Scenario you describe if classified as a separate war would be WW6
