The 'Tequila Party' Hopes To Stir Latino Voters
Just as the Tea Party drew heavily on a public backlash against government spending, another new political movement — the Tequila Party — aims to use the latest crackdown on illegal immigration to motivate Latinos to vote in 2012.

Arizona Republican DeeDee Garcia Blase formed the National Tequila Party Movement as an answer to a Tea Party influence she blames for increased political opposition to immigration.

The group has no aspirations to become a third political party. Its focus will be registering as many of the nation's 21 million voting-age Latinos as it can, targeting young voters in presidential battleground states.

Unlike the Tea Party groups, which have generally aligned with Republicans, the Tequila Party pledges no allegiance to either major party. Blase has dropped her affiliation as a lifelong Republican — and plans to resign as president of Somos Republicans — to protest the Republican-led immigration enforcement law passed in her home state of Arizona. The Tequila Party held its launch party in Tucson last month.

3. For the life of me, I have never understood why Latinos outside of Cuban exiles support
Republicans. They have always, for the most part, looked down upon Latinos and considered them as the "hired help" of their Party. Contrast that with the Democrats where there have been many Latinos who have held prominent positions in leadership.

With all the hatred being spewed forth by the Republicans, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Miami Mafia in Florida.

5. I'm generalizing here, but it is because they are conservative in their private lives,
usually Catholic, and believe in the death penalty. The also prefer leaders who appear to be dictatorial over leaders who are consensus builders.

4. All of these fractious GOP groups claim, "no allegiance to either major party"
Just a way to siphon grassroots activity to the GOP. Yawn. The only question remains is whether the MSM will promote them to undeserved prominence?

7. Tequila Party to Tea Partier Senator Marco Rubio:“We have your new taxpayers but you don’t want them
http://tucsoncitizen.com/arizona-hispanic-republicans/2011/07/09/marco-rubio-is-a-hypocrite-on-wanting-no-new-taxes-but-new-taxpayers/

Recently Tea Partier and Junior Senator Marco Rubio stated that we don’t need new taxes but new taxpayers. However, when the opportunity presented itself for new taxpayers to come into the fold via the DREAM Act, Senator Marco Rubio quashed it. We have the new taxpayers, but he doesn’t want them. He stated multiple times he was against the DREAM Act and chooses to punish children for the sins of their father.

Marco Rubio’s tax complaints come with no reasonable and sound solutions to offer in return. If he wants new taxpayers but no new taxes, then he ought to support the DREAM Act that will in essence create new taxpayers into our system. According to the CATO Institute, introducing a legal immigration reform plan would contribute billions towards tax revenues and/or boost incomes across the U.S.

Tea Partiers advocated the complete shutting down of our government, and with Rubio’s policies, he is taking us on that same destructive path again. If we cannot come to a bipartisan solution via legal immigration reform to acquire new taxpayers, then Tea Partiers will have no choice but to increase taxes or cut entitlement programs like social security. Which will they choose?
