Ron Paul not running for House reelection
Ron Paul is setting up his third White House run to be his last act in politics.

“Big news,” the Texas congressman wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday. “I have decided not to seek reelection for my House seat in 2012 and will focus all of my energy on winning the presidency.”

4. My broken clock is as accurate as an atomic clock twice a day, that's Paul's record too!
I think the last time I was this happy was when Jerry Falwell died.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, you stupid, fascist asshole.

I will be SO GLAD when I don't have to read his fucking name on the msg boards any longer!

5. He's old. He's done. He's going out in a blaze of non-glory...
...by running a guaranteed-to-fail presidential bid.

We had this discussion in my office yesterday. Why? Why would he give up a perfectly good Congressional job for a Quixotic presidential run? Why? Because he can. He's got money, he's been in Congress forever and if you can give him credit for anything it is that he is true to his word. I would never vote for him in a million years, don't get me wrong. But Ron Paul is one of the few perpetual candidates (or even the seasonal ones) who walks the walk. He is consistent in his beliefs and message. He's not a finger-in-the-wind candidate like Romney, or a newcomer loony tune like Bachmann. The guy has paid his dues, and he's unwavering on his message. I can't help but respect him for that.

7. "Winning" the presidency, huh?
Too bad that "God" apparently has instead divinely chosen Batshit Bachmann to be His Rethuglican candidate...heh!!

Mr. Paul perhaps eventually having to campaign as a third party Libertarian candidate is gonna be very expensive as well, and even if he will supposedly be focusing all of his "energy" on winning, all he will likely be able to accomplish, if so, is to siphon a certain percentage of mostly rightwinger and independent votes.
