Am I correct in pointing out that since the November elections
every single special election has been won by Democratic Party candidates including the Wisconsin primary for fake Democrats.

I hope Democrats intend to use that fake primary yesterday to show that Scott Walker does not mind wasting taxpayer money for political gain even though he lost big time.

Go Dems - make them eat Paul Ryan's bill.

1. I think so, mal, and it portends 'positive,' imo.
Dems must get and keep our act together, to counter what I consider truly anti-American repug crapola. If we do, there's a bright future ahead.

2. America has a heavy dose of buyer's remorse.
It will only get worse.

4. So why are we fighting among ourselves
instead of preparing for 2012.

7. Because that's what Democrats do.

Also, Obama's triangulating. The whole point is that he looks like he's in between the two parties. So why move to the right and move the center he has to occupy??

9. Well....
I do not understand a lot of whats being said so I'm staying out of a lot of the current debates here at DU. Speaking only for myself, I will lay out my thoughts here... I am not happy with any number of things President Obama has done/not done. I can definitely understand peoples anger and dis-appointment with him. What I can't understand is people that do not want to look at reality... And the reality is that the repugs are putting up people for 2012 that are at best simply batshit insane, that in no uncertain terms, have to be stopped. The reality is, no one is going to primary President Obama. The reality is not voting for President Obama in 2012 is helping repugs win. The reality is that I will do everything I can to see that President Obama is re-elected in 2012.

Sure, I want everything to be fixed yesterday but I do not see how 30 years of repug rule and repug media control can be overcome easily, it will take time. That said, I do make sure to let all of my representatives know what I think they are doing wrong on a very regular basis:

Even though I've been told this is meaningless and in-effective, I dis-agree and think if everyone did it, they would see just how powerful it can be.

5. I really think
the 2010 elections turned out the way they did for 2 reasons....

1) People were complacent in their beliefs that the Democrats would win easily, and did not take the time to vote.

2) There were sufficient Democrats who somehow believed that staying home would somehow teach those Dems who were not liberal enough a lesson.

6. Janic Hahn won in CA as well
Although the turnout was pitiful and should serve as a wake up call for California Democrats.

8. The Democrats won in the Democratic primary, and in California.
Color me shocked. The one interesting special election since November has been the NY-26, which the Democrat won. Republicans held that seat for years. What happened there is what also happened in the NY-20, and in other places: the Tea Party refused to give up. The vote was split. It's similar in a way to the Democratic victory in Delaware's 2010 Senate race. They should have lost, but the Tea Party fought hard to get a wacky candidate on the ballot.

Fingers crossed they keep at it. Bachmann for Republican Presidential nomination!!

11. Yep, and it's only going to get worse for the GOP.
They offer indies and moderate Republicans no reason to vote for them.

12. Don't get too excited
Special elections and primaries tend to be won by folks who can turn out the politcally active. That's the hard conservatives and the active liberals. General elections tend to have more independents and politically inactive. There are more active liberals than arch conservatives. It's the independents and moderates that move large, popular, elections.
