In the context of a balanced budget amendment. But the base will hear it, loud and clear.

6. Yeah well, "Elections have consequences." Live with it Mitch.
Whether you like it or not, President Obama was elected by the people of the United States. OTOH you were elected only by the people of West Virginia. It's time you learned what that means.

He's made enough bone headed statements in the last two days that would bury almost any politician.

17. Kentucky.
Lots of great people exist in that state. Unfortunately, just like SlowHio, it's a foot-shooting teabagger haven . . . there simply aren't enough pockets of progressivism in the Metro areas to overcome the low-info block.

It's why Pale Man remains safe as a kitten, unfortunately.

25. There is not going to be a full scale civil war
if there is any violence, it will be a small group of rebels, probably the craziest of the tea baggers and they will be easily defeated when they actually have to go up against real soldiers.

14. Here is his words its from LBN on DU

The time has come for a balanced budget amendment that forces Washington to balance its books. If these debt negotiations have convinced us of anything, it’s that we can’t leave it to politicians in Washington to make the difficult decisions that they need to get our fiscal house in order.

The balanced budget amendment will do that for them. Now is the moment. No more games.

No more gimmicks. The Constitution must be amended to keep the government in check.

We’ve tried persuasion. We’ve tried negotiations. We’re tried elections. Nothing has worked.

Witness Tennessee (too many examples of DRE-facilitated election fraud here to enumerate now -- gotta get back to picking blueberries.)

21. Thom Hartmann Did A Pretty Good Job Eviscerating The "Balanced Budget Amendment" Argument...........
..........back when Rand Paul not only suggested it, but stomped his widdle foot and said he'd filibuster EVERYTHING until he got one.

Just going from memory, Thom made lots of good points about how a "Balanced Budget Amendment" would be the death knell for the American economy. Not just crash it. Not just be bad for it. But would KILL it.

First of all, he pointed out that there has never been a single, solitary SECOND of this country's history when we didn't have any debt. This country was STARTED on a loan from the French and others, so as soon as this country was "born" in 1789, we were already in debt.

Also, and probably most important, the American economy survives because we are able to sell our debt. If there is no debt, there are no T-bills. If there are no T-bills, the dollar loses its value steadily until it HAS no value. And then the economy is sunk. Definitively and forever. And guess what happens then. Just take a wild guess off the top of your head who benefits from that. Who gets to swoop in, pick up all the pieces from the fall, and keep them for themselves. Come on, you know the answer. If the Republicans want it, it must benefit...........say it with me now...............

So make no mistake, if you hear a Republican touting a "Balanced Budget Amendment," just know that it's because they want to crash the economy. If you ever needed any more proof of that FACT than you have now, this whole "Balanced Budget Amendment" crap should end the conversation once and for all.

29. I remember this website called protest warrior.com
It was a right wing group of people who would go to the Anti-Iraq invasion protests and hold signs that said things
like "I support Saddam" "screw the Kurds" etc... they did this in order to provoke real anti-war lefties into violence.

While watching the website , I ran across members whose profile picture was of a T-shirt. This shirt had a picture
of a sniper on a rooftop with a caption that said " If elections don't work vote from the rooftops"

This statement from Mitch today reminds me of those American Haters on protest warrior . com . One wonders how those individuals will take his message.
