They caved in too easy. Don't let these bastards off of the hook that easily. They were up to something, and they almost got the American Tea Baggers going for it, to change SS and MEDICARE. This had to be a test for some future project, otherwise, why such a fight? And with something that a Presidential decree would remedy? What were these guys testing the waters for?

Don't expect me to answer right away for I am at the end of my day and ready for sleep. (I work nights)

6. The News. Yes.
I was up all night and saw Sen McTurtle, I mean McConnell say just that, That Obama could raise the debt ceiling per executive order. he pretty much said that all of the so=called 'demands' about cuts that equal the amount in debt raising would be 'suggestion'. So like I asked, What was that?

7. Here's a pretty good overview of what McConnell is proposing via Bob Reich
McConnell's plan would allow the president to raise the debt limit. Congressional Republicans could then vote against the action with resolutions of disapproval. But these resolutions would surely be vetoed by the president. And such a veto, like all other vetoes, could be overridden only by two-thirds majorities in both the House and Senate -- which couldn't possibly happen with the Democrats in the majority in the Senate and having enough votes in the House to block an override.

Get it? The compromise allows Republicans to vote against raising the debt limit without bearing the horrendous consequences of a government default.

No budget cuts. No tax increases. No clear plan for deficit reduction. Nada. The entire, huge, mind-boggling, wildly partisan, intensely ideological, grandly theatrical game of chicken miraculously vanishes.

Until the 2012 election, that is.
