‘I can't trust the current government’
"I can't trust the current government," and "I'm a sleepwalker," Jared Lee Loughner proclaimed in an Internet video before the shooting of a federal judge, congresswoman and others on Saturday in Tucson.

His rambling videos had already caused him trouble at school, scaring his community college into suspending him in September.

In early October, he agreed to withdraw from school.

By November, Loughner had bought a Glock, purchased legally from a Sportsman's Warehouse in Tucson, the Associated Press and Washington Post reported.

The sheriff, without identifying the gunman, said Saturday evening that he has made death threats in the past, but not toward the apparent first target of Saturday's attack, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

1. I think he is suffering from a real and serious mental illness, many of which
manifest themselves around his age - 22 - based what seems like a real deterioration of his comnduct over a relatively short time.

6. Or bi-polar (manic-depression). Typical onset is late adolescence to
early adulthood, based on experience with close family members and research.

5. DU is an anonymous website
Which would indicate to even an uneducated person that we have people posting here who are not Democrats.

We have Larouchies, Nader rocket scientists and just about every other flavor of nut posting here.

That is a fact.

4. I stopped trusting it in about 1970
Feeling that way does not have to be the most important thing in one's life.

7. Exactly, many people don't trust the government -
but that doesn't mean they are going to buy guns and start shooting at the local Safeway.

9. Implying that someone who does not trust the government
is necessarily dangerous is misguided and irresponsible.
