This is backed up by a recent Gallup Poll. So Boehner hasn't got a leg to stand on!
And Obama has every reason to hang in tough. The Repubs., themselves, will blame
Boehner, if the government shuts down. And Obama would be nuts to cave. Yet, will he?

1. GOP can tell a GOP voter black is white
and the next day they'll repeat it to you. Republican voters were angry at Obama for the non-existent tax raise in 2010. I think it's safe to say Boehner isn't very worried.

2. It's quite possible that Boehner is confident that the American people are
on his side. Maybe he knows nothing about the latest Gallup Poll yet. Wait till he
finds out the truth.

3. Yeah, but Grover Fucking Norquist says, "Shit!" and the Repug caucus answers, "What flavor, sir?"

4. Maybe Boehner is digging the Neocons' own grave, and Norquist and others are
helping him do it.

The whole Neocon GOP is built on a heap of lies. It is taking a long
time, but more and more old-timer GOPers are finding it out -- much
to their disgust. A house of cards has to fall some day.

5. This is somewhat misleading..
because in the poll referenced, while only 26% of Repubs want to reduce the deficit "only with spending cuts'..another 41% want to do it "mostly with spending cuts"..

7. The author of the article probably took into account the fact that Boehner
is the one who stubbornly and strictly adheres to the "only with spending cuts."
Boehner reportedly would not budge from this. So the 41% "partly with spending
cuts" do not count. (Just my guess).

6. Sure I can believe it...
...what I can't figure out, though, is why that 75% of Republican voters keep voting for candidates whose policies they DISAGREE WITH!?!?!?!?

9. I figure that many old-timer Republicans don't yet that their Party
had been taken over by the Neocons long ago. The Neocons have been
able to keep this fact from them by having kept up the Republican
name. So these people still think they're voting Republican. But
more of them are finding out that their Party no longer exists, and
quite a few have left. I know a few of them. In time more
will do so.

A house built on a mountain of lies can't help but eventually fall.

10. With too many people (both Dems. and Repubs.) it's a question
of voting in the way their family has always voted. Family loyalty. Large numbers of
people couldn't even name one cause they are voting and fighting for. Unfortunately,
this is reality. And nearly half of all eligible voters don't bother voting at all.

Maybe we should have a law like they have in Australia; Those eligible voters who do
not vote and have no good reason for not voting must pay a fine.

In our country the Republicans are trying their best to trick unwary Democrats into
not voting at all. Yes, it takes all kinds of people to make a world.
