I Cannot Believe Cantor Interrupted President Obama THREE TIMES During The Meeting.
Edited on Wed Jul-13-11 09:39 PM by KittyWampus
If my understanding is correct, the PRESIDENT was trying to wrap up the meeting and Cantor interrupted the PRESIDENT three times.

In any business meeting, you do not interrupt the President/executive who runs the meeting. Actually, whoever speaks must be recognized by the chair first and be given the right to be heard.

Now I don't know if meetings with the President go according to Robert's Rules of Order. But I'm pretty sure there is set decorum that you do not interrupt the President unless it's to say "Sir, the room is on fire".

The level of disrespect is on par with the Republican idiot Joe Wilson who yelled out "You lie" during Obama's State of the Union address.

No matter how much you may dislike the human personality inhabiting the Office of President of the United States, that Office is to be respected.

Cantor is a slug.

7. If O'Reilly can do it
so can Cantor. Both are arrogant pricks and think they are above having to give due respect to the POTUS regardless of politcal party.

I doubt Bush would ever have had to put up with the kind of crap that Obama faces on a daily basis. The GOP is filled with low life bigots who think they are entitled to behave like douches just because they have an R after their names. Democrats never did this to Bush. Ever. No matter how much they may have disagreed with his policies, they didn't disrespect the office.

Scum is an insult to scum. They are beneath scum.

interrupting...

There is a certain level of rules that apply here, as respect to the OFFICE,

But this is a DEMOCRAT who happens to be a (sorry for the word, but that is what they think) a negro.

And he really does not know his place.

Yep, some of the things I have heard from local republicans... and this spreads up.

43. A friend of mine attended a town meeting recently.
Not my town, but a small town in the reddest state in the union. Being a Federal employee, he was only attending as a subject matter expert to answer any questions on a specific issue before the council. And then the public had an opportunity to ask questions. Apparently thinking they had a visitor from Washington D.C. (they didn't), they proceeded to ask my friend all sorts of questions about totally unrelated matters. And then one of the questions went something like: "Why do we have a black man as president?"

:wow:

It's too bad we got interrupted in our conversation, because I really want to know how he responded to that whopper. But he did tell me enough to know that, apparently, the question as asked in the context of that town meeting was not considered "out of line." I just hope some citizens at least stared at the floor and shook their heads in shame at the bigots in their midst.

31. Cantor has no respect for the office of the President of the United States!!
I remember early on when I was in basic training in the Army, one of our Drill Sergeants told us, "you may not respect me, but you must respect the rank I hold, and follow my orders as if your own mother was wearing these stripes."

So, we did.
We always followed the orders he gave to us.

On a side note, from that day on, we referred to that Drill Sergeant as "Mother" every time we talked about him behind his back to each other.

Hahahahaha!!!!

He was a pretty good guy actually.

22. He's negotiating in bad faith. See link:
Cantor could rake in windfall if debt ceiling isn’t raised

Economists have said that failing to raise the debt ceiling could be catastrophic for the U.S. economy, but at least one lawmaker stands to gain financially if the country defaults on its debts.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's (R-VA) latest financial disclosure statement indicates that he owns up to $15,000 of ProShares Trust Ultrashort 20+ Year Treasury EFT, a fund that will likely skyrocket as U.S. debt becomes less desirable.

"If the debt ceiling isn’t raised, investors would start fleeing U.S. Treasuries," Motley Fool's Matt Koppenheffer told Salon. "Yields would rise, prices would fall, and the Proshares ETF should do very well. It would spike."

"Cantor's involvement in the fund and negotiations is not ideal," he added. "I don’t think someone negotiating the debt ceiling should be invested in this kind of an ultra-short... It looks pretty bad."

26. That's why it boggles my mind how Obama tries to negotiate with those "hostage takers."
They don't see Obama as POTUS... they see him as the black boy that conned his way into their exclusive club.

They will never respect or deal fairly with this President. So I don't get why he bends over backwards to accommodate these disrespectful pieces of $hit. Tell them to raise the debt ceiling. End of story. Or they get blamed for the ensuing disaster.

You don't even jokingly HINT that our social programs such as Medicare or Social Security are potential bargaining chips.

Wall Street will not let the Republicans plunge us into default. They want their money, conservative, teabagging agendas be damned.

It is past time for the President to turn his ire towards the true enemies... the Republicans. I hope he continues in this fashion.

35. Because a vital part of all this is he must appear that he is at trying to be inclusive. If not,
He feeds them and the press with opportunities to rip on him. Also, the general voted for some type of cooperation. Obviously, the GOP doesn't give a damn, but it's too risky for him to play it another way. If the independents weren't so damn fickle things could be different.

Either by Secret Service or WH security...they should have walked up to his chair, one person on each side and made it clear: You are leaving this room.

He reminds me of some ignorant people who I have worked with...I told one woman "the LOUDER you talk, the LESS I hear". She tried to excuse her tone/loudness by saying the room we were in was small and it made her voice sound loud. Uh-huh.

Kind of like the saying the people who feel a need to talk loud, usually have the least worthy to say.

Somebody came up to me and said I was playing too loud. I told them I was not playing too loud, the room had no absorbent carpet, drapes or other surfaces, and everything bounced around like a tile bathroom.
