My dad just now: "It's a reflection of his mother" re: Cantor interrupting Obama 3 times
I love my dad he put it in perspective. Simply put Eric Cantor just wasn't raised right.

1. There's a lot lacking in Cantor. Your dad has it right, Cantor's a product of
lousy upbringing. And also an absolute jerk.

28. He doesn't get it! Obama is the PRESIDENT! He's not a junior staffer.
This is disrespect and it's intentional.

29. If I was trying to insult you I would have
but not in this instance, but good try at being ignorant though.

Sometimes people just need to lighten up or step away from the
keyboard every 20 minutes, it helps.

Edited on Wed Jul-13-11 10:21 PM by wndycty
. . .had done their job and raised him right, this would not have happened.

My dad is 77 years old so he is old school and since he was raised by his mother he'd assume Cantor was.

30. Not to disparage your dad...
because though I think his remark was a bit sexist I doubt he meant it that way.

But in 77 years you don't think he realized that everyone was not raised the same way as him?

38. Hey, Jewish mothers have the right to be bad mothers too...
No matter where you want to draw your imaginary social lines, there are bad mothers in every group.

If you are going to stir shit for no good reason, you should at least get a better spoon.

15. Sadly, I find this attitude all too common among those born with a silver foot in their mouth

almost everything they have has been handed to them yet, somehow, they think they have earned it and the rest of us are just lazy parasites. I'd love to see this asshole spend a week picking Strawberries for a living. Then, I'd love to see him try to live off the proceeds of his labor. Unfortunatly, this disconnect seems to be the rule among our "elected" representatives. Almost without exception, they are or soon will be millionairs who have completly lost touch with the people who actually work for a living. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Just look at how they dress and their hair styles. Nobody in my life dresses like them (both men, but especially women) and no one I have ever met wears their hair in the "Washington" way. Seriously. Do you know ANYONE who wears their hair like Blago or helmet head ? This is a Washington insider fashion statement.

I look at my friends and neighbors and then I look at pictures from Washington and all I can think is that the pod people have arrived.

19. And the way our system is rigged unless one has tons of money and
some pretty lofty contacts, chances are one is never going to see DC. Local elections and maybe state elections, but generally it takes big bucks and contacts to get to DC. So, they all come preloaded with cash and IMO most of them have nothing in common with the majority of the country. Like George Carlin says, it's an old boys club, and we ain't part of it.

Yeah, some of the hair styles in the DC club are pretty lame, and a number of them are plastered down wigs.
